Double Dating

Last night Pete and I went out on a double date with my friend and her boyfriend. I was rushing around to get ready and fit my physio in etc after working at the shop as we were meeting them at 6.30. However we got there in time even though I pointed out a parking space to Pete and he drove straight past it and ignored me! He thought he saw another space but it was taken by a micra hiding to try trick you, you know the type! So then we had to drive all around again because of the stupid one way system, luckily it was still empty. We went to the comedy club and then for a curry afterwards.

I felt such an pain because I couldn't walk all the way to the curry place even though it's only like a 10 minute walk, we walked to the car (about a 5 minute walk if that) and by the time we got there I was coughing loads and was breathless and my friend said the place was only down the road but it was about another 5 minute walk and I said I couldn't do it. It's embarrassing coughing so much infront of everyone out around town on a Saturday night and I was tipsy, and excessive coughing and too much alcohol is not a good combination, the result could be being sick in public, not great! So my friend and her boyfriend walked there and Pete drove us two there and then we spent ages trying to get a parking space close by. Like I said, I feel a pain for causing such a fuss. It was bad enough Pete offered to drive (so couldn't drink) so we didn't have to get the train or anything, I just couldn't face walking from the train station and waiting for one home etc. But then to make him do this, I just feel pathetic. He's so sweet offering to drive though so I could drink, he said it was my friend we were out with so I should be able to drink. I can't wait until the weather gets warmer and then hopefully I won't have all these problems! It's OK when I'm walking Alfie as I can get wrapped up, wear suitable footwear, walk at my own pace and it's warmer through the day. But on a night out I'm wearing heels, it's colder, I have a coat on but a dress on so my my legs get cold and people always walk fast!! Also the ground isn't very flat around town so you end up walking uphill sometimes.

I have outpatients tomorrow, I think my lung function will be better. I still don't feel 100% but the tobi nebulisers definitely seem to have helped with my cough, it's not as bad as it was but still there. I've been doing well at the gym, I managed 16 minutes on the treadmill which is the most I've ever done and also 26 lengths at the swimming pool which is the most I've ever done! So wish me luck for tomorrow!!

Haha ZZzzz

I am so tired today, I think I might just sit here all day and not do anything!

On Friday I went shopping to try spend my birthday money, no such luck. Why when you have money can you not spend it? There are still no decent clothes in the shops, its my brothers birthday next week and I couldn't even find anything for him. I got so tired walking around that when I went to debenhams to get some underwear I got 5 pairs when the offer was 4 for £10. The woman told me this at the till and I couldn't comprehend what she was telling me, I was just like 'whatever just let me buy them!'. She then told me the price and I handed her a £20 note, she looked at me for a while then informed I owed £26 (I bought something else too), I looked at her thinking 'what is her problem?' then I realised I hadn't given her enough. I can only describe my actions as acting like I was in another world and I think this woman clearly thought I was crackers. This is what tiredness does to me! I then had to rush home as I was going to the cinema with my friend who I used to work with, to see 'he's not that into you', it was ok, but not as good as I was hoping. I got myself a chinese takeaway after, ate it, and went to bed at 10pm, forgetting completely about any kind of physio. I didn't even wake up when Pete came home from his night out, I was totally out of it!

Last night Pete and I went to the comedy club and then for a curry afterwards. I like the comedy club because it's obviously funny, the first guy who was scottish was the funniest. However it means I cough alot, good physio I suppose! I think walking to the car and back clearly demonstrated why I need a disabled sticker, I coughed so much I thought I was going to be sick at one point and this was only a short walk because we parked on double yellow so we were closer to the places we were going. It's so embarrassing when your all dressed up and looking good and then your coughing your guts up, not very attractive!

By the time we had our curry I was pretty bungalowed, we had to wait in the bar for 40 minutes so didn't eat until about 10pm. The curry was good, although I got one with loads of garlic in and it was abit too strong. As we drove home (Pete was the designated driver), I insisted on putting Lady Gaga's song on, really loud, on repeat....fun!

Alfie ended up sleeping in the bed with us, he just kept whining and whining for some reason, I thought he would give in after a while. He doesn't. After about an hour and half I gave in and let him in our bed. So hence why I am tired today, I have been too busy and overdone myself, I have a whiny dog and a boyfriend that snores... Enough said!

Winter is here!!

Well blimey isn't it getting cold?! It is not good for my chest! Everytime I go outside I feel like I can't expand my lungs so have to take little breathes so I get out of breath easier, plus the cold air makes me cough more and get more mucusy (if thats even a word). Another thing i've noticed is that some of my joints hurt when i'm cold, particularly my knees, they feel abit creaky and achy. I don't know if all these things are because of my cf or if they happen to you normal people as well, I guess i'll never be able to compare!

On Monday Pete and I went to see a comedian called Jason Manford (I think), he is on 8/10 cats with Jimmy Carr. Pete surprised me with the tickets which was very sweet of him. However I think he bought them for another reason as well.....to try and kill me!! The closest we could get to the theatre was at the end of the road, and the road is steep with the theatre at the end. That meant I had to walk uphill, in heels, in the cold. Not very good, then to make it even better we were on the top tier so I had to walk up stairs that seemed like they were never ending. I was gasping for breath by the time i'd finished but managed to hold in the millions of coughs I was desperate to do, I was in public afterall, got to be presentable....! Anyway I lived to tell the tale and if you want to kill me Pete your going to have to try abit harder....!! The comedian was good, I didn't laugh properly as that would have brought on even more coughs (laughing is the worse thing someone with cf can do I think - even more evidence that Pete is trying to kill me....), I was also very tired so probably didn't have the energy to laugh too much. Some of the stuff he did say was very funny and I really enjoyed it.

I've been going to the gym like a good girl, i'm going swimming once a week and doing my work out programme once a week. It's hard forcing yourself to get there but once you get there it's ok, it's having the showers etc that makes it even more tiring and those showers at the gym are not very warm so I end of coughing loads. Think I might start coming home to shower after.

I've been trying to organise my hen night invites, what a nightmare! my printer ran out of ink halfway through and would not print the picture I wanted on the invites (a picture of me dancing stupidly lol), so I emailed Pete asking him to print the rest off at work. He did, but the font was different and it looked stupid which he told me it did but I thought he was insulting my microsoft word skills and to print them anyway. So anyway I could not send those out, so I went around to my mums to print them at hers and she ran out of paper! So I ended up using yellow paper (why she has yellow paper I don't know) for a few of them. Her computer also changed the font, I must have a different microsoft word to other people or something, but I just changed it. Anyway i'm finally sorted, I hate printers, mine sometimes just makes noises at me or prints in an alien language. I don't like computers because something so simple always ends up going wrong!

So today I plucked up the courage to take Alie for a walk as he has been driving me crazy, barking at everything, he is obviously bored (even though I walked him sunday and monday). So we got all wrapped up, I had my hat and gloves on, Alfie put his coat on too. Here we are

You think this hat is funny wait until you see me in my ear muffs, and im not joking, I do own some!
Alfie in his little coat sniffing a weed, this coat is purely to keep him warm not to dress him up before I get accused of dressing up my chihuahua. He was still shivering with the coat on! If I were to dress him up he would look like this......hehe
I'm going for my flu jab later, can't be bothered, but I don't think getting the flu would help me stay well, so suppose i'll go! Anyone reading this who has cf, make sure you get your flu jab! Call this your reminder!!
