End of Iv's

The day has finally arrived! I have finished my iv's! My lung function is down abit but still good for me, I didn't pay attention to what it was, I was too busy scratching my port because they had taken the needle out! My weight is 55.1kg. My arm was so crusty that she couldn't get the needle out at first as it was stuck to my arm! I've given it a good scrat and now it's bleeding, so I've covered it in E45 and wrapped a bandage around it as don't want to get all the stuff on my top. All the staff were quite concerned about my arm, they didn't take any swabs as it's not infected. They have given me every single dressing they have and before I go to my outpatients in 4 weeks I have to put abit of each dressing on my arm a few days before so they can look what is what. I bet you, the dressings don't do anything and my arm looks fine, I'm a mystery!

I'm taking part in a study about allergies anyway, they took loads of my blood today to test what antibiotics I'm allergic to and to try figure out why. My port bled back for about 6 tubes and then decided it wouldn't bleed back anymore so then they had to take some blood out my special vein in my arm that I'm protective over. Alot of people with cf have bad allergies to lots of antibiotics, this is obviously a problem when they need to use them alot, it's better to be able to use a variety not just the same one. The second part of the study is to have skin allergy tests, I told the doctor when he mentioned this to hang around whilst they took my needle out as he might find it interesting.....!

Yesterday I went shopping with my mum to get my birthday present. I'm getting old! We walked around for over 3 hours, I was so tired and my lungs were hurting by the time we finished. If shops had decent clothes in stock I wouldn't have to go into every single one, the clothing range at this time of year is rubbish! They haven't got new stock in yet of whats going to be fashionable this year, but last seasons stuff is still full price! I got a purple coat, some skinny henley jeans and a top. I'm going to see the My Bloody Valentine 3d film tonight, I am so scared already! I don't cope very well with horrors so one where the guy comes out of the screen and attacks me with a pick axe may be too much!
